Mighty Writer is an innovative and multisensory resource. It is in fact a set of soft neoprene mats with a velcro-type surface and plastic tiles for images, and symbols denoting verbs, adjectives and abverbs. It transforms children’s literacy almost overnight, no matter what level the child.

It teaches the whole process of learning to write from speaking in simple sentences through to planning and editing increasingly complex and sophisticated stories. It uses images, symbols and colours to help children structure and recall sentences with ease.

It is a whole-school, whole-class resource. Its core age range is for 4-7 years, however it can be used with children of all abilities from those who are reluctant to speak to the very able. The visual approach is excellent for use with children with English as an Additional Language (EAL).

It teaches fictional and non-fictional writing and enables children to become independent and competent writers.

Since launching in the summer of 2016, Mighty Writer is transforming literacy in over 800 schools and 40 countries. But it is just as easily used in the home for parents and with all the training online and a helpline availabale for any questions you may have.
