Bedrock Vocabulary is an online vocabulary curriculum which teaches vocabulary explicitly, whilst encouraging reading.

We teach students the academic vocabulary they need to improve their reading comprehension and succeed in school.

Bedrock Vocabulary is designed for students in KS2/KG2 up to KS4/Grade 10. As students progress through our ready made vocabulary curriculum, they learn hundreds of tier 2 words and task words.

All the new language is introduced in the context of fun and original fiction and non-fiction texts; students then engage further with the language through a range of multi-modal activities. Written text is all read aloud to the learner, supporting weaker readers and providing a further learning opportunity.

Bedrock doesn’t just teach vocabulary, it assesses learning too! The programme is entirely self-marking, saving teachers time. Valuable assessment data is fed directly back to teachers, providing them with word level data for individual students, classes, groups and the whole school. Regular impact reports are also provided to allow schools to measure the efficacy of the programme.
