Less than a month after being Double BETT Finalists, Learning by Questions (LbQ) has been shortlisted for further 3 honours at the Education Resources Awards 2018.
The online platform that capitalises on the proven benefits of immediate feedback for both teachers and pupils can be tried for free at www.lbq.org and is already finding favour amongst industry peers with top accolades at two of the world’s most prestigious ed-tech awards.
Nominated for ‘Primary Resource or Equipment – Tools for leadership, management and assessment including ICT’, ‘Start-up Business of the Year’ and a new ERA category: ‘Collaboration between school and supplier Award’ which has been created to acknowledge technology developers who have developed excellent working partnerships with the schools they supply to.
Andy Done, Year 6 teacher and Deputy Headteacher at Masefield Primary School in Bolton has played a key role in the evolution of LbQ:

Studies undertaken by IEE found learning could be increased by more than 25% in an academic year. Masefield Primary are finding their results to be even more positive:
“From September 2017 to December 2017, the pupils in my year 6 class have done, on average, a full year’s progress. That is an extra 8 months of learning. One particular pupil who was working below age-related expectations at the beginning of the year has made 18 months’ worth of progress. Huge impacts are being seen and LbQ is responsible for a chunk of this in maths.”

Learning by Questions is a cloud-based educational classroom tool that saves Teachers time and increases their efficiency by highlighting which Students need their help and which concepts need teaching during lessons. Students’ progress at their own pace and ability through question sets and receive immediate automatic feedback as they answer. Teachers receive live analysis and results are saved to support assessment and planning.
Funded and owned by the Bowland Charitable Trust and led by the founder of Promethean Tony Cann CBE, the team behind Learning by Questions have an established reputation for changing classrooms around the world. Further independent testing of the programme by the Institute for Effective Education found that using Learning by Questions could increase learning by more than 25%.
Currently undergoing a £1million Feedback Study with 50 schools across 10 local authorities in the UK, Learning by Questions is committed to improving education through evidence based pedagogy and will be launching even more content in Autumn 2018.
