Exhibition: Bett 2015, 21 – 24 Jan 2015 – ExCeL, London
Exhibitor: Capita SIMS
Stand: B260
Levels are on their way out for all schools and for secondary schools, the new Progress 8 measures are in. In addition, for schools with sixth forms, more comprehensive performance information will be published.
School leaders who want to ensure these changes do not negatively impact on the quality of teaching and learning in their school should visit the Capita SIMS stand (B260) to find out more about the SIMS School Improvement Programme (SIP).
Its team of consultants – who have all been senior leaders in schools – will be on hand to show how bespoke reports can help schools to develop their assessment practices. Or, if schools haven’t decided what to do, SIMS consultants can work with them to develop a system that is right for their school.
The SIMS SIP team will work with school leaders to develop solid self-evaluation and assessment processes which are critical as schools move into a new assessment landscape. This is just a small part of the team’s wider school improvement programme which enables schools to harness their data to drive improved teaching and learning.
Phil Neal, managing director of Capita SIMS, says: “Real-time access to information on how students are performing against the new assessment benchmarks is critical for every primary and secondary school. And yet, we continue to find that schools are not always focusing on the right measures or are using current data. These packages ensure schools get tailored advice on what information they need to access and how to get that information into the hands of senior and middle leaders instantly.”
The SIMS School Improvement Programme can also provide consultancy packages related to preparing for an Ofsted inspection, governor training and strategic planning days.
The team can work with governors to give them the tools that they need to provide the support required by their headteacher. They are also able to work with senior leadership teams to develop their use of data which in turn supports school improvement and ensures everyone maintains an ‘always prepared’ inspection policy.
