Location: Hertfordshire. Remote working with flexibility required to work across educational settings in Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties if needed, with an opportunity to work up to 2 days per week in our Head Office in Stevenage, Hertfordshire if desired. There will be times (such as team meetings) where you will be expected to be in the office.

This role will suit someone who is interested in a fixed term contract or a secondment initially on a one-year fixed term contract. We are seeking to appoint full-time adviser and would consider part-time 0.8FTE or term time only applicants.
We welcome applications from colleagues in the EY, primary, secondary or special school sectors. We are seeking a candidate whose current post may be within a school, a trust, a teaching hub, a local authority, or an organisation providing services to educational settings, with experience of delivering impactful professional development activities within your own school and beyond.
The successful candidate will have recent and relevant school experience and expertise in (as well as a proven track record of) promoting race equality and anti-racism in a school, trust or setting. Is a current or more recently experienced middle or senior leader with outstanding classroom practice and success as a leader, you will have the necessary knowledge and skills to enable you to support, monitor and challenge mainstream schools and school leaders across all phases.
You will have high quality written and oral communication skills and work well as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills combined with a high level of problem-solving and creative thinking skills are essential prerequisites for the role. Whilst driving improvements in race equality and anti-racism work you will face some challenges, but you will have a supportive network and psychological safe spaces to decompress via your line manager, the existing Race Equality Adviser and monthly supervision with a trained counsellor.
Our ‘working from anywhere’ approach provides colleagues the opportunity to work flexibly in line with their role requirements. You will be able to organise and prioritise your own workload, be flexible and prepared to travel to trusts and schools as needed throughout Hertfordshire. The ability to reach different locations by car will be essential for this role. If you drive, then a full driving licence and appropriate car insurance will be required. As there is a permanent home working element to this role, you will need to ensure you are equipped for home working.
