Education is the foundation upon which we build our future.

At Herts for Learning, we’re proud of our core purpose. We believe that every young person, through access to a great education, should be able to realise their potential, regardless of where they live, their background or circumstances. You can find out more about us here.

Our work with schools, settings and trusts as a social enterprise is well known across our network. And now, we’re looking to build a new team – focused specifically on the operational and infrastructure needs of Multi Academy Trusts.

Are you looking to achieve impact on a larger scale in the sector?

Can you develop a successful trusts portfolio with real impact for clients?

Our new Head of Trust Operations and Finance will lead a vision to develop and deliver traded products and services that optimise the performance of people, finance, procurement, infrastructure, and buildings in trusts.

The suite of services and products you develop will add strategic value to the trusts and academies you work with. This means adding value to some of the best Business Management Professionals in the country. We already have an established Academy Finance offer, with a fully qualified team, who do just this – so our journey has already begun ready for you to take forward.

You are an established leader with a real understanding of operations and finances in the educational trust sector. You have insights into the sector landscape, deducing client needs, anticipating challenges and showing excellent people and presentation skills to inspire and engage others with your vision and solutions.

You are a self-starter with experience in leading diverse teams to achieve sustainable results. You are likely to have experience within a Multi-Academy Trust environment, as a Chief Operating Officer or as a Director of Business. Equally, you may be in a senior consultancy role advising schools, or as a senior leader with commercial accountability in an educational supplier organisation.

In return, we offer a competitive senior salary, together with a range of benefits including a generous employer pension contribution, life assurance, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 31 days after five-years), company performance bonus, benefits schemes, professional development opportunities, family-friendly policies and hybrid working.

Our ‘working from anywhere’ approach provides colleagues the opportunity to work flexibly in line with their role requirements. Also as there is a permanent home working element to this role, you will need to ensure you are equipped for home working.

This is a great opportunity to join a diverse and successful team and have a significant impact on the quality of business management across trusts.

If you believe you can set the direction, build the business case for investment and deliver your vision, we would love to hear from you.
