Location: Remote working with flexibility required to work across educational settings in Hertfordshire and occasional visits to Robertson House, Stevenage.

We are looking for two experienced and qualified /part qualified accountants to join our Academy Finance team, working with single academy and multi academy trusts providing a variety of services from consultancy type roles, including Finance Manager support, to managed services, including the monthly management accounts, and internal audit and assurance services.
In this role you will support the development and delivery of our services to single and multi academy trusts. This includes maintaining and developing your expertise in the financial reporting and management requirements of academies within a fast-changing educational landscape. The role requires the ability to travel and a proactive approach to applying your technical accounting skills and knowledge to a variety of situations.
The successful candidate will be qualified /part qualified accountants, have excellent accounting and financial management skills and be experienced in communicating financial information to non-financial clients, budget holders or trustees. Previous experience of working in the audit and assurance sector is advantageous. Full training on academy trust and school finances will be provided.
The Academy Finance team is part of HfL’s business services directorate and currently has four accountants and two transaction advisers, this is a growth area of our business and there will be advancement opportunities. The Team works closely with the business management team many of whom are DfE SRMA accredited, financial services for maintained schools and the finance systems team.
The team are working remotely where possible to support their educational setting and when required, providing onsite support to their schools in line with Government guidelines. Therefore, the ability to reach different locations by car will be essential. If you drive, then a full driving licence and appropriate car insurance will be required. Also, as there is a permanent home working element to this role, you will need to ensure you are equipped for home working.
