We are looking for a passionate, experienced and excellent digital communicator to shape and deliver engaging content, and maximise our impact through our digital channels, including social media. The ideal candidate will be a confident writer, editor and digital media expert who’s equally capable of contributing in a significant way to our digital engagement strategy. This will involve the ability to identify and exploit emerging digital technologies and generate new and engaging content appropriate to our customers and service users.

About Havering
Havering is London’s most easterly Borough, Havering is rich in heritage, with the highest proportion of older people in London as well as a fast-growing younger population.
Romford is a major sub-regional centre with a large retail and nightlife economy. It is one of the oldest market towns in South East England. Other significant centres in Havering include Hornchurch, Upminster and Rainham.
As well as many towns and villages Havering has a wealth of open space, from the riverside marshes and wildlife habitats in Rainham, to over a hundred parks and open spaces.
Havering is well connected into the Capital by rail and by the District Line and abuts the M25. From 2018, Havering will be served by 3 Crossrail stations at Romford, Gidea Park and Harold Wood.

About the Job
Based within our Commercial Business Unit, reporting into the Marketing and Communications Manager, the post holder will act as the ‘Digital Lead’ and help drive forward and improve digital content development, engagement and impact with service users and customers across a diverse range of digital channels and platforms. The role is responsible for managing all our digital touch points and online platforms in order to optimise customer journeys and engagement. The role will help drive forward strategic and innovative digital content development and impact across our portfolio of services.
About You
You should be a passionate and confident digital communicator. Confident writer, editor and digital media expert with demonstrable experience in maximising impact through digital channels.
You should have a proven track record, backed up by a digital portfolio of your body of work/projects. You must be able to evidence your effectiveness and impact in current or previous work settings in achieving agreed organisational objectives.
You should be highly skilled and experienced in digital marketing and communications, to include content development and delivery across website, email, social media, Google Ad Words, SEO and Google Analytics.
You should be an effective collaborator and a team-oriented individual and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to manage complex and varied stakeholder relationships effectively and simultaneously to achieve project outcomes is a prerequisite for this position.
Experience and understanding of the education services market and knowledge of how to effectively engage with schools and settings will be advantageous for the successful candidate.
Experience in e-learning content creation and knowledge of authoring tool used in building e-learning courses will be advantageous.
