BESA's annual summer member event returns for 2023 at The Oval Cricket Ground this July! 

 

BESA, and headline sponsors Wonde, are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our Summer Insight Day at the world famous sporting venue, The Oval.

As always, the day will offer BESA members an informative mix of discussions and talks from a range of inspiring and influential guest speakers, followed by networking with fellow members over an al fresco lunch overlooking the cricket ground. We look forward to welcoming all of our members (and cricket fans!) back for this year's event.

In the sector, multi Academy trusts are proliferating and working with you as suppliers, we believe we can forge a new creative future for education and for the benefits of all pupils across our country. Julian has lots of ideas and is looking forward to sharing them with you on the day.

British Council - The Future of English: Global Perspectives

The British Council will be sharing the outcome of their 'The Future of English' research, including key trends, impacts on stakeholders and issues & opportunities.

BESA's latest research

We will be joined by our research partner Jason Gould of the Education Company, an organisation that has been supporting education suppliers for over 30 years. 

Why a long-term strategy and plan for education is needed? 

FED Education independent and neutral space for provides an opportunity for discussion and debate so that the long-term challenges we face can find long term solutions.
1. Establishing a vision, purpose and objectives of a long-term plan for education.
2. Considering the system architecture and governance arrangements required to achieve it.
3. Understanding place based approaches to better connect regional and national objectives. 4. Embedding equity and inclusion to ensure that everybody benefits and succeeds within our education system.
 

Facilitated panel discussion 'Student voice - The important role of student engagement in product development'

The role of student engagement in product/service development led by senior representatives from AQA and members of their Student Advisory Group, to further discuss the future of exams, mental health, and climate change.

Meet the opening keynote speaker - Julian Dutnall

Julian studied Law at Exeter University and qualified as a barrister in 1996. After a year working as a Crown Prosecutor he completed a PGCE at Anglia Ruskin University and began teaching. He has taught in 5 state schools in 3 local authorities. At Chelmsford County High he was Deputy Headteacher when the school was graded Outstanding by Ofsted and gained the highest GCSE results in England in the January league tables. He is in his 12th year as Headteacher at Frances Bardsley Academy, a Good school with Outstanding features. He is CEO of the LIFE Education Trust which runs 7 schools in Havering and Essex. Julian holds a 1st Class honours degree in English, a Masters in Educational Leadership, a Masters in Business Administration, the NPQH and is currently studying for an educational doctorate.
