What’s your favourite Roald Dahl story?

What’s your favourite Roald Dahl story? Mine is Fantastic Mr Fox. The story of a clever and determined fox is a delight. As a child, I adored his cunning tricks and wily ways. I adored it even more when I read it to my own children recently. They were fascinated and wide eyed throughout.

Dahl’s stories are hilariously funny, amazingly charming and massively memorable. They capture imaginations like no other. Celebrating Roald Dahl Day is an opportunity not only to celebrate one of the greatest storytellers of all time, but also to share his magic with younger generations.

At Pobble HQ our team will be celebrating Roald Dahl Day not just because the wondrous words we all read as children stayed with us for life, but also because we regularly see the power of his stories in schools around the world. Our teaching community regularly share their pupil’s writing with us and many of these pieces are about, or inspired by, Roald Dahl and his writing. Check out Nicole’s Dahl biography, Kabir’s poem or Finley’s character description.

If you’re a teacher looking to plan a Roald Dahl topic or create a lesson around one of his many wonderful stories then a good starting place is Pobble.
