PRESS RELEASE
Online learning specialist, Frog, is delighted to announce that it has been named a finalist for Use of educational technology’ in the 2011 EducationInvestor Awards a programme celebrating innovation and excellence in the UK’s education industry.
The Yorkshire-based company has been recognised for its popular learning platform, used in over 700 schools across the UK. Frog is the UK’s leading learning platform, inspiring school leaders to use technology that creates ownership through creativity, and has been proven to raise standards even in schools that are already excelling.
Frog changes the way schools work it enables ordinary people to do extraordinary things whatever the curriculum, specialism or school vision. The exceptional creative control enables teachers, admin staff and students to fully embed their learning platform into the school’s working life; and have access to a wealth of information at their fingertips, such as resource areas for coursework and forums to share ideas with other students.
Demonstrating that Frog is more than just a learning platform, the company recently launched its new School Improvement Programme at its annual conference, held last month; a free online tool which gives senior leaders the ability to align the development of Frog with their school development plans.
Lucy Evans, Community Manager at Frog explains how it works: The tool, accessed in Frog, lets leaders evaluate how far technology is embedded within their school. Once they have scored themselves, they can review this and benchmark against themselves how they are performing.
This then gives schools an overview of what they need to focus on; creating a living action plan that aligns to the schools’ development plans.
There is also a social network available where they can create groups, collaborate and discuss ideas with other schools. They can also access a bank of ideas that have already made an impact in other schools.
The 2011 EducationInvestor Awards will be judged by an independent panel of industry experts and presented at a glittering ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel on 17th November.
