Location: Hybrid working consisting of remote working, working across educational settings in Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties (including London), along with visits to our Head Office in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

Following a significant period of change, our HR and Recruitment Services department has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our customer facing HR services team as a HR Business Partner.

The HR Business Partner will be the lead contact for specified school trusts who subscribe to the bespoke HRBP Service. The successful person will partner with school trusts to support them in responding to their unique HR challenges at both an operational and strategic level. This varied, dynamic, and interesting role will cover the full remit of generalist HR, with significant involvement in the management of complex employee relations casework, as well as leading organisational change projects, including TUPE, restructure, and redundancy. The role holds responsibility for building, developing and nurturing relationships with senior external stakeholders, and will also be involved in aspects of business development and product and service evolution.

We are looking for someone with significant HR experience and a strong generalist background, who can confidently support and challenge managers, whilst providing business focused, pragmatic, and customer centric solutions.

To be suitable for this role you will need to demonstrate an inquisitive, solution-focused approach to HR practice, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a range of senior stakeholders.

Our ‘working from anywhere’ approach provides colleagues the opportunity to work flexibly in line with their role requirements. This consists of remote working, working across educational settings in Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties (including London), along with visits to our Head Office in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The expectation is, on average, to travel to educational settings / Head Office up to 2 days per week. This is an average expectation over time, and there will be variations from week to week. Mileage allowance payable for all travel from home.

The ability to reach different locations by car will be essential for this role. If you drive, then a full driving licence and appropriate car insurance will be required. As there is a permanent home working element to this role, you will need to ensure you are equipped for home working.

Benefits: a generous employer pension contribution, 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 31 days after five-years) or the equivalent paid for Term Time employees, family-friendly policies, hybrid working, paid mileage, a cycle to work scheme, onsite charging points for electric vehicles, access to mental health and wellbeing support, company performance bonus, professional development opportunities, benefit schemes for discounts and cashback offers, and more.

To apply, email hfl.recruitment@hfleducation.org with a detailed CV along with a cover letter to include responses to the following questions:

  3. Provide an example of when you have contributed to the development of new business opportunities, or product / service development. What were your key learnings and outcomes from this experience.
