We are a small, committed team working in a fantastic sector, where your work can make a real difference to the education of the next generation. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a fantastic attitude who is willing to roll up their sleeves and offer support across the whole organisation. This role will suit a recent graduate or school leaver who is interested in a career in Marketing, Membership or Events – you will provide admin support in each of these areas and gain essential skills that will help you move forward. We encourage training and learning and will provide full support.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:
Marketing
- Updating our website and posting blogs
- Posting to social media
Membership
- Sending out membership packs and information to new and existing BESA members
- Onboarding new members
- Updating our Customer Relationship Management database
- Interviewing and onboarding companies to the Educate programme
Events
- Booking travel, venues, catering and deliveries to support the event team
- Sending out event confirmations to delegates and speakers
- Participating in events both online and in person
General admin
- Welcoming guests to the office, booking meeting rooms, organising refreshments
- Providing adhoc admin support for our Directors as required
You will be expected to work in our dynamic offices in Shoreditch for a minimum of 2 days per week and to attend events at other locations from time to time. There may be some out of hours work required and some travel. No overtime will be paid but you will be offered time off in-lieu. On days when you are not in the office you have the choice to work from a network of alternative workspaces across London or to work from home. We also have regular team social events and wellbeing activities.
What you have to offer:
We are looking for a proactive, hands on attitude plus someone who is well presented and articulate. You must be able to write English to a high standard, have good computer skills and a willingness to learn. A good team player is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
- Excellent presentation skills and telephone manner with the confidence to engage with a wide range of companies, often with individuals at a senior level
- Strong organisational skills, with an ability to juggle a number of tasks under pressure
- First class customer service skills
- Must have GCSE English and Maths grade 5 (C) or above
- Educated to A Level or equivalent, as a minimum
- Knowledge of Office – word, excel, powerpoint would be an advantage
- Familiarity with social media and WordPress websites would also be a benefit, but is not essential
- Enthusiastic and committed to achieving both individual and organisational goals, demonstrating a clear understanding of BESA and what it is trying to achieve
